1. To insert the document, select the Add Media button.
   
2. Click the Select Files button to specify files to be uploaded.

   

3. Select a file (eg in the form of DOC), and click the Open button.

Feature download manager can be installed  to the system in Joomla! easily, but has full features such as: statistics on the number of articles downloaded, the downloaded new articles, most downloaded articles, and other statistics.
System in Joomla! version 1.5.x, Document Manager and Statistic called Extensions. While in the veri Joomla 1.0.x and is called the Component Module.

In general, the number of Extension (the extension) is very much divided into several types, namely: Component, Language, Module, Plugins (mambots), Special, and Templates. Of several types can be divided into several categories. For more details, the following list is taken from the Extension website  Joomla (http://www.joomla.org).

1.  COMPONENT

In general, the Component  function to add the functionality of the system Joomla have a page to set some parameters. For example, facilities Document Manager (DOCMAN) have settings to make the article category, description, image, copyright, the link address, and others.

Number of Components is currently developing more than a hundred and will continue to grow in line with the development of the age and needs of users. Component to install, it first must download the official Joomla website. Components that have free and paid, but not to worry because the amount of free Components more of the paying. Both have the same features of a complete and reliable as tested and will continue to be “monitored” by the Joomla community, discussion forums and comments from users to improve the system so that better.

Some Important Components
The many extensions developed by third parties (3rd development) is one of the factors Joomla is growing rapidly and demand, many users, especially for beginner web developers who have limited knowledge of web programming languages.

This is because Joomla is designed to be integrated with some additional features that are developed by third parties include component, module, plugins, and templates. Essentially, Joomla is designed to build the web the most simple to the complex web portal with some additional extensions easily.
Thus, the form of a website generated depends on the initial design of making the website itself and live enter some extension is necessary. It is recommended to study the function of some component that is provided.

Here are some examples of the component according to the author it is important to know and have been used in various purposes according to theme a website built.

1. Community Builder (com_comprofiler.zip): useful to build a community website such as: professional organizations, religious, medical, and other communities. Please note, this requires a component module for the system work better.

2. Fireboard (FireBoard_1.0.4_Stable_CompletePackage.zip): useful to create a forum for discussion and can be integrated with Community Builder so that information can be complementary to one another.

3. PHP Free Chat (com_pfchat15_1.0.1.zip): work to provide the facility to chat online without requiring a server such as Yahoo Messenger, MSN Messenger, and mIRC.

4. Jevent (com_events_1.4.3rc2.zip): function to display the events (Event Calendar), for example, the training schedule, teaching schedule, schedule meetings, and others. This module requires a component that appears in the main page.

5. VirtueMart (com_virtuemart_1.0.15.zip): work to create a website online store. This component also need some module to menampillkan products. Usually when download this extension, all supporting files are included.

2.   MODULE

Module is a mini application that are placed on the left, right, up and down the main page a website. Function module to display some of the component has been installed. So, when installing a component then automatically install the module. One is multi-component, when you first installed it will automatically install the module to display the language selection in the main halama website.

Module has a very important role to display the beauty of the website because it can control the interface and the component is installed. Module can also display a website with an innovative way and show images in random articles, the video documents, audio and animation and other documents so that they do not have the impression monoton.
Similarly, with the component, the module will be installed in the website to be downloaded first. And specialty module files have the prefix “mod” in front of the file name, for example mod_cd_login_1.0.9.zip.

Unlike the component, module does not have a page to set the parameters such as the specific component. Module can only be me-disable and enable on the left, right, up or down on the main website page.

Some Important Module
Business on the Internet has not been much done by some of the Word people, this is not due to the prevalence of information technology to remote areas (rural). In the urban area itself is also not utilize the Internet as the “land business” that arouse. While many benefits are gained by utilizing the Internet, such as: business online stores, online training, online consultancy, web design, to hosting and domain sales.

Before the emergence of software such as Joomla!, Web developers take a minimum of three months to design a web. Not to mention the test and repair systems. Need a very long process, especially the consumers often change the look, and navigation features, that extra work will add a morning programmer.
Now with the Joomla!, The feel of the webmaster. At least for a beginner webmasters who want to build a website quickly, although a knowledge of programming languages is limited.

A large number of modules developed by the parties have an important role, especially in terms of look and innovation. However, not all modules are developed for free, there is also a must buy alias paid. Although most of the module is free, does not mean the feature does not have a full or less secure.
Here are some modules that are important to know and used in accordance with the theme that will be made. Some of the module has been used by the author when building the website in a variety of needs.

3. Trans Menu (mod_TransMenu_v1.3.zip): working to create interactive menu that has submenu (pull down). This module can be used to change the display more informative website navigation with the simple but powerful.

4. Random Article (mod_randomartikel.zip): function to display articles randomly. This module is often used to create a portal website containing information or news. Articles will appear in random order according to the number of articles. All articles can be specified in the parameter this module.

5. Birthday (mod_CbBirthday1.1.zip): functioning system for members of the reminder date of birth (birthday). This module is usually used on a website community that is integrated with the Community Builder component and the Forum.

6. Sliding Menu (Camp26_KwickSliding_menu_J15.zip): function to display the menu Sliding. This module is used to simplify the menu view that many in number. With this module the list of menu items will not appear before the menu is.

3.  PLUGINS/MAMBOTS

Understanding Plugins/Mambots
By default, the system Joomla 1.5.x version has 6 categories namely plugins, as:

1. Authentication: related to the authentication system that is integrated with Joomla, eg Gmail authentication.
2. Contents: related to manipulating articles or contents.
3. Editors : related to the manipulation of the editor used to write the contents or articles.
4. Editor-xtd : related to the manipulation of the features editor is more complex.
5. Search : related to the manipulation of the function search / search on the website.
6. System: related to the system such as Joomla Legacy 1 for some component or module that works on the previous version.

Some plugins / mambots standard “default” that is Joomla, as:

1. Image : mambot that works to convert the (mosimage) in the content to insert into the picture in the HTML (img tag).
2. Pagebreak :mambot that works for navigation pages (cut a long page into several pages with the complete table of contents.
3. Moscode : mambot that works for menggati the moscode) ((/) moscode a command tag that marks the programming code.

Some Plugins / mambots Important
The number of plugins / mambot that is not developed as much as component, module, and template. There is no clear reason alasana that they do not develop many plugins / mambots, possibly because the range is too wide and not more difficult in the development.
The author in using the plugin / mambots, there are some plugins that are important especially to secure the site (site security). Here are some example plugins / mambots, as:

1. Antiflood (floodcontrol.systembot.v.1.2.zip): work to secure the site from flooding (the server is busy working to create, for example, to repeatedly Refresh)).
2. Content Protector (mbt_contentprotector.zip): work to protect an article (content) for the visitors. This plugin is used to separate biasaya between visitors with members (Registered).
3. All Videos (plg_jw_allvideos-v2.5.3_j1.5.zip): functions to run in the form of a video file with the types: Flash, QuickTime, Shockware, Windows Media, and Real Media..
4. Jsecure Authentication (plgSystemJSecure-1.0.6.zip): work to protect the administrator page of hacker attacks. There are some developers website page is not an administrator, so it’s easy to dihacker people. This plugin is very useful to hide the administrator folder.

4.  TEMPLATE

Display a website influence the emotions in the visitor to enjoy the information presented. No wonder if a web-only ads will soon be left behind by visitors. The placement of the navigation neat, a cool color, the news is informative and simple grammar that will invite all users of the Internet to visit website. Therefore, the template has an important role to play in a news website in addition to informative.

Understanding Templates
Each template will display the website different. This is because each template has a parameter that is different from the letter (font) used, letter color, hyerlink color, background color (background), the table frame thickness, to the position of the module. Setting text color, hyperlink, type the letter for bodytext, heading 1, heading 2, and footer is controlled by a general CSS (Cascading Style Sheet). Knowledge of CSS will be discussed in another chapter in this book. Meanwhile, to set the header image sometimes, can be edited directly in the index.php file in the folder name in the template.

In the latest version of Joomla, generally can not install a template on the previous version digunaka although already mengktifkan plugin Legacy 1, in which the plugin works for some melegalkan extension (component, module, mambots, and templates) in the version below. 1. First time, please download  JSecure Authentication file or you can download at site  Joomla http://extensions.joomla.org).
2. Login into the administrator.
   



3. If using  Joomla 1.0.x, choice menu Module > Installer.
4. Click Browse button, specify a file to upload. Click the Upload & Install.
   



5. If  using Joomla 1.5.x, pilih menu Extensions > Install/Uninstall.

   

6. Click Browse button, specific file to Upload. Click Upload & Install button.
   



7. Wait some time until the installation process was successful.
   



8. Once successfully installed, there are some lines that the script should be included in the file to Joomla. For Joomla 1.0.x, find the file login.php in folder /administrator/templates/joomla_admin.
   



9. Please insert this script.

Remember!, There is a suffix? Goto4dm1n after administrators. If you are unsure, press Save button to save. Make sure not to forget the key, if not forget it will be able to login to Joomla administator page.



14. For Joomla 1.5.x, after successfully installed select the Extensions > Module Manager menu .



15. Select Administrator.



16. Find module jSecure Authentication.



17. Select Enabled.



18. In the Parameter, enter the word to protect the administrator page. Next, click the Save button to save your changes

    .

    

19. Test your website, login to the Administrator with the page write the URL address http://yourdomain.com/administrator. What happened?

In this section, contain additional information such as website address, home address, occupation, telp no, no. Fax, and others. By default, Tab additional information (additional information) contains information such as visible in the image below.

Some things to note are: Required, and Registered.

•    Required = whether the field must be filled in when people do registration.
•    Registered = whether the field is displayed on the first time people do registration

Make New Tab
We can add a new field-the field as you wish. However, should create a new tab first so that additional information is not integrates with the other. The tab is nambak like in the picture below.

1. For make new Tab, sure at  Tab Management page.



2. Next, click New Tab button.



3. Enter the title of a new tab, and deskripsinya. Do not forget, on the set Publish Yes. While for the placement of the position tab, and the view of user access rights can be arranged at the bottom (not visible). If you are finished, click Save.

Make new Field
After creating a new tab, now live make-field field new suit.

1. Make sure it is located on the page Field Management, how to select the Components > Community Builder > Field Management.



2. Click New Field button.



3. For example, we will make some information about the field work experience.

   c.    Position
   d.    Phone

4. After determining the field-the field will be created, the next step is determining the type field, note the following information.

   b.    Institution Address = Text Area, Size = 20, Max Length = 75, Col = 20, Row = 2
   c.    Position = Text Field, Size = 20, Max Length = 20
   d.    Phone = Text Field, Size = 20, Max Length = 10
   e.    Fax. = Text Field, Size = 20, Max Length = 10
   f.    Website = Web Address, Size = 20, Type = URL only
   g.    Email = Email Address, Size = 20, Max Length = 20
   h.    Experience= Text Area, Size Size = 20, Max Length = 300, Col = 20, Row = 4
5. To be more easily understood, note the following images.



6. Please note, when typing in the Name (institution) will then be automatically added cb_ prefix so that the name was changed to cb_instansi. The next step to make the address field. Click the New Field button.

LIST MANAGER
List of community members that will be displayed can be set up access rights. If access rights are Registered, meaning only to users who have done registration. Thus, the user (Guest) can not see the list of members.
When you set up some configuration for the user, interface, field, and other matters related to the community, the next step in showing the facility Frontpage (front page) of your site.

1. First time,  select Component > Communit Builder > List Management.



2. By default,  there is only one view community called Member List.



3. Edit member with the pressing  Member List.




4. In this section, may be a community title (Title), group access rights to view the community. Everybody If set, every visitor can see the members, but can not see the detail the user is. Visitors must sign in or register first if you want to see the detail other users.



5. Choose the field-the field will be displayed on the columns that have been provided. Key <- Add the top, used to enter the field in column 1. The Add button -> at the top, used to add field-2 field in the column. <- Add at the bottom is used to enter the field-3 field in the column. The Add button -> at the bottom, used to add the field-field in the column 4.



6. Arrange each of the fields as needed. Column 1 (column 1) position is the left.



7. Insert more field for column 2.



8. Insert more  field for column 3.



9. Insert more  field for column 4.



10. Duplicate (Copy) address the link that will be used to view a list of community members.



11. Save all changes have been made by pressing Save button at the top.



12. Once sure the address link, copy-ter, it’s time to put the list of communities. The menu button can be placed in the mainmenu, othermenu, and usermenu. If you follow the instructions of this book, put on the top menu by choosing  Menu > topmenu.



13. Click  New button.



14. Select Links, then select Link – Url.



15. Enter the URL address that has been in the copy in the previous link. Enter the title of community (ie community) in the Name column.



16. After finish, click Save button.

Umumnya, ketika ingin membuat sebuah fitur seperti komunitas diperlukan file instalasi yang terdiri dari Component, Plugin, dan Module. Jadi satu paket fitur komunitas terdiri dari beberapa file. Untuk itu, sangat perlu memperhatkan kebutuhannya agar fasilitas yang disediakan lengkap dan mudah digunakan. Berikut ini, saya sajikan beberapa teknik untuk membuat sebuah komunitas yang diintegrasikan dengan sistem Joomla 1.0.x. Pengalaman yang pernah saya alami, beberapa kali mengintegrasikan Community Builder menggunakan Joomla 1.5.x sering terjadi “error” ketika membaca database yang dibutuhkan. Padahal database tersebut sudah tersedia. Terus terang sampai sekarang kurang tahu penyebabnya. Namun ketika saya integrasikan dengan versi Joomla yang lebih rendan (Joomla 1.0.x) tidak muncul masalah tersebut. OK, tidak perlu mempermasalahkan hal itu. Gunakan saja versi yang tidak menimbulkan masalah. Mungkin karena versin Joomla masih “sangat baru”, 3d party belum beradaptasi dengan baik.

TAHAP 1: KEBUTUHAN DASAR DAN INSTALASI
Beberapa file yang dibutuhkan untuk membuat fitur komunitas, pastikan telah tersedia. Sebelum mulai instalasi, usahakan menyiapkan file-file yang dibutuhkan, silakan Download file tersebut.

1. Pertama kali pilih menu Installer > Component.

   

2. Tekan tombol Browse, lalu temukan file com_comprofiler.zip yang berada di folder community builder.

   

3. Tekan tombol Upload File & Install.

   

4. Proses instalasi berhasil.

   

5. Langkah selanjutnya, menginstal modul yang masih satu paket dengan Community Building. Pilih menu Installer > Modules.

   

6. Tekan tombol Browse, lalu cari file mod_cblogin.zip

   

7. Tekan tombol Upload File & Install.

   

8. Apabila sudah berhasil, tekan Browse untuk memilih file mod_comprofilerModerator.zip.

   

9. Tekan tombol Upload File & Install.

   

10. Terkhir, uploadfile mod_profilerOnline.zip
    

    

11. Untuk memeriksa Component yang telah terinstal dengan cara memilih menu Component > Community Building.

    

12. Sedangkan untuk memeriksa Module yang telah terinstal dengan cara memilih menu Module > Site Module. Secara default, Module yang baru diinstal dalam kondisi tidak dipublikasikan (bertanda x). Aktifkan Module tersebut dengan cara menekan ikon tanda silang (tanda x).

    

13. Modul CB Login berfungsi untuk Form login yang dapat berintegrasi dengan Community Builder. Sedangkan modul CB Online adalah memeriksa status anggota komunitas yang sedang online.

TAHAP 2: MENGATUR KONFIGURASI
Konfigurasi yang di sini menyangkut beberapa hal diantaranya: pengaturan untuk Registrasi, Tampilan pengguna, Profil pengguna, Gambar, Moderasi, Koneksi, dan Integrasi.

1. Pilih menu Component > Community Builder > Configuration.

   

2. Setelah berada di halaman Configuration, pada Tab General aturlah settingnya seperti gambar berikut.

   

3. Pada Tab Registrasion berisi pengaturan yang berhubungan dengan registrasi seperti alamat email utama, reply, subjek, konfirmasi, informasi pending, dan dan-lain.

   

4. Tab User List berisi pengaturan tentang jumlah anggota yang akan ditampilkan pada setiap halaman dan mengatur link atau tidak ke nama pengguna.

   

5. Tab User Profile berisi pengaturan profil pengguna, diantaranya: apakah diijinkan mengganti username, siapa yang berhak melihat profil pengguna, minimal interval untuk menekan (hits) profil, template komunitas yang digunakan, dan lain-lain.

   

6. Tab Images berisi informasi untuk mengatur ukuran gambar (widht dan height), ukuran thumbnail, izin untuk mengupload gambar dari PC, memilih gambar yang tersedia (gallery), dan lain-lain.

   

7. Tab Moderation berisi informasi untuk mengatur sistem moderator menyangkut grup moderator, konfirmasi email ke moderator, izin pengguna untuk melaporkan, ijin moderator untuk mengedit profil pengguna, dan lain-lain.

   

8. Tab Connection berisi informasi pengaturan untuk membuat jaringan (koneksi) antar pengguna. Melalui sistem koneksi tersebut, dapat dipisahkan sesuai jenis koneksi, misal: pengguna IKC, pengguna PDII-LIPI, dan pengguna Pustekkom. Ini semacam jaringan antar pengguna. Sebagai gambaran, pengguna IKC dapat mengundang (invite) pengguna lain di luar IKC.

   

9. Tab Integration berisi informasi untuk mengatur koneksi versi terbaru (update) dari sistem komunitas yang digunakan. Pilih Manual jika tidak ingin memeriksa versi terbaru.

   

User Management
Tab ini berisi informasi pengguna, baik pengguna Front-end maupun Back-end. Informasi yang dapat ditampilkan antara lain nama pengguna, log in, group, dan lain-lain.

Tab Management
Pengaturan pada bagian ini menyangkut tentang posisi modul yang akan ditampilkan di halaman utama. Posisi Tab terdiri dari header, right, middle, dan tabmian. Plugin yang berwarna merah berarti perlu penambahan instalasi modul dan komponen lain. Oleh karena itu, sebelum mengaktifkan tab tersebut terlebih dulu harus menginstal plugin yang diperlukan. Untuk instalasi Simpleboard Forum akan dibahas pada bab lain dalam buku ini.

1. Pilih menu Components > Community Builder > Tab Management.

   

2. Baiklah, untuk mengetahui lebih jauh perlu dijelaskan beberapa fungsi masing-masing item tersebut.
   • Menu = ditampilkan di bagian atas (header). Posisinya dapat diatur, caranya: tekan link teks tersebut. Lalu aturlah pada bagian Position. Aturl pula hak akses untuk melihat menu tersebut.
   • Portrait = foto/gambar pengguna (dapat diganti sesuai keinginan. Posisi foto dapat diatur sesuai keinginan (administrator).

     

   • Article: jumlah artikel yang ditulis oleh pengguna. Posisi informasi artikel tersebut dapat pula diatur, umumnya berada di bagian bawah.
